Tonight you will enjoy a three-hour-long professional display of tango and music with a group of local artists onstage immersed in an elegant performance venue At the end of the evening, around midnight, you will be driven back to your hotel and dream about the inspiring bohemian streets of the capital city.

DAY 3 - South to Ushuaia

Flight to Ushuaia

Start the day with your flight to Ushuaia, the famous city at the end of the world. Ushuaia is a small town, easy to get around on foot. The Yamana people, its first inhabitants, called it Ushuaia which means “protected bay” in their language.

Ushuaia was officially incorporated into the Republic of Argentina in 1884, and it soon became a penal colony, in order to establish a permanent Argentine settlement. Take the afternoon to explore the town at your leisure. Learn of the region’s history at the Prisoner’s Museum or visit the Galleria of Fueguian History. Ushuaia is also an excellent town for foodies craving some fresh seafood, so be sure to try a few local restaurants.

DAY 4 - Tierra del Fuego National Park

Exploring the End of the World

Today, we will embark on a day trip to Tierra del Fuego National Park, just 12 km away from the city, lying on the shore of the famous Beagle Channel. Learn about the expedition of Charles Darwin while journeying to this historic land. As you arrive at Ensenada Bay, we’ll take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the channel before beginning a hike along the coast.

After a homemade picnic, the second part of this adventure begins. Take your oar for a plunge and start a canoeing trip along the Lapataia river ( available for children over five years old). Today’s adventures will leave you ready for rest, so be sure to enjoy a good night’s sleep.

DAY 5 - Ushuaia

Exploring the Beagle Channel

In 1833, Charles Darwin sailed the Beagle Channel and discovered the majestic, alluring lands of Patagonia. Now it’s your turn. Set sail along the smooth, blue waters that have been sailed for centuries, first by the Onas and then by notable scientists and expeditionists.

With Argentina at your left and Chile to your right, you’ll cruise the natural border until reaching the iconic end-of-the-world lighthouse, the ancient guard of the bay. On your way back, you’ll stop at Bridges Island to walk a beautiful wildlife path. Use this opportunity to learn about the Yaman’s history and see the largest shelly deposits of the region.

DAY 6 - El Calafate

Flight to El Calafate

This morning, board a short flight to El Calafate for even more adventure. Spellbinding natural wonders await you in this northern town, like the Perito Moreno Glacier and the stunning turquoise waters that surround it.

But El Calafate is not just about the glaciers. You can also discover the charm of daily life for rural Argentine communities. From Calafate, explore a typical Patagonian Finca (ranch) and learn all about the gaucho (cowboy) culture and enjoy a great Asado (barbecue). These are just a few intriguing, immersive experiences waiting in this region.

DAY 7 - El Calafate

Discover the Perito Moreno Glacier

In the morning, we’ll pick you up and drive you to Los Glaciares National Park for a breathtaking, six-hour-long tour of Perito Moreno. This gigantic ice field is one of the most fascinating natural sites on Earth, and you will get to come face-to-face with this frozen giant.

After this visit, you will take a boat ride that will take you close enough to fully appreciate the looming 80-meter (262 feet) ice walls of Perito Moreno. Get up close with this impressive natural masterpiece for an unforgettable excursion.

DAY 8 - El Calafate

Estancia Cristina and the Upsala Glacier

Prepare to explore the lesser-known side of Patagonia. Today will take you to the ever-impressive Estancia Cristina for a day learning about the rural culture of ranch life here in Argentina.

After sailing across the turquoise water of Lake Argentino, you will reach the estancia, tucked away in the serenity of Los Glaciares National Park. Ride in a 4×4 to get stunning views of Upsala Glacier and taste a juicy Argentine steak cooked in the most traditional fashion.

DAY 9 - North to Iguazú

Flight to Iguazú

Although the Patagonian excursion is coming to an end, there are even more exciting adventures ahead. Trade in icy mountains for lush jungles as you fly to Puerto Iguazú. The small border town of Puerto Iguazú is the gateway to the impressive Iguazú Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a miraculous, must-see destination for any traveler visiting Argentina.

If you’re eager to explore, you can visit the “Hito Tres Fronteras”, a viewpoint west of the town center that stands high above the turbulent reddish-brown junction of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers. This point also forms the Triple Frontera, the spot where Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay all connect.

DAY 10 - Puerto Iguazú

Exploring the Argentine Side of Iguazú

In the morning, we’ll pick you up at your hotel to take you to the Iguazú National Park. This is where you will be able to encounter the falls up close on Argentina’s side of the park. The falls are surrounded by a humid subtropical forest where the exuberant vegetation is home to many different animals and birds.

An expert guide will help you spot some of these creatures: ant birds, toucans, manakins, parrots, and coatis just to name a few of the most common birds. Lower and upper walkways weave in and around falls, providing you full access to this magnificent spectacle of nature. You will have the chance to see “The Devil’s Throat,” which is the largest of the falls and the most captivating.

DAY 11 - Iguazú to Buenos Aires

Visit the Brazilian Side of the Falls | Flight to Buenos Aires

After breakfast, we’ll begin a 3-4 hour long excursion to the Brazilian side of the Iguazú Falls, so be sure to bring your passport. While Argentina has 80% of the falls on its side, Brazil has the best panoramic view. On the Argentinian side, you will have the sensation of being right inside the falls, but only by visiting the Brazilian side will you be able to fully grasp the immensity of Iguazú Falls.

Later in the afternoon, we’ll help you catch the short flight to Buenos Aires where we’ll be waiting to take you to your hotel. Enjoy your last night in the city in one of the trendy restaurants and bars of Palermo Soho neighborhood.

DAY 12 - Homeward Bound

Return Home

Going home is the worst part of any luxury tour of Argentina, but at Nomad Patagonia, we’ll do our best to make it as smooth and hassle-free as possible. Your host will meet you at the hostel and transport you to the airport for a relaxing start to your journey home. Buen Viaje!
